DARRYL L. WAGNER was born in the Napa Valley on July 5, 1966. He attended University of California, Davis where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business and Economics in 1989. While at U.C. Davis, he formed and served as President of Phi Alpha Delta, law fraternity. After U.C. Davis, he attended the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law where he received his juris doctor Degree in 1992. In law school, Mr. Wagner was recognized for his oral argument and legal writing skills. He was admitted to practice law in 1992. He is admitted to practice in all California state courts and all federal courts in California, including the U.S. District Court for the Eastern, Northern and Central Districts of California, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Mr. Wagner worked as an associate attorney with the law firm of Cook, Brown, Rediger & Prager, Sacramento office, from 1992-1993 where he started as a law clerk while in law school. He returned home to the Redding area in 1993 and joined as an associate attorney with the law firm of Moss & Enochian from 1993 to 1999. In March of 1999, he joined with Stewart C. Altemus to form the law firm of Altemus & Wagner.
Mr. Wagner has served as President of the Shasta-Trinity Counties Bar Association and Vice President and Director of the Fee Arbitration Committee for the Shasta-Trinity Counties Bar Association. He is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of California, Litigation and Business Sections, and the Shasta-Trinity Counties Bar Association. He is also an active member of the American Trial Lawyers Association, California Trial Lawyers Association, and Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles. He regularly serves as a judge pro tempore for the Shasta County Consolidated Courts. He has successfully tried numerous jury and court trials involving personal injury, employment disputes, construction claims, contract disputes, business disputes, land use issues, Subdivided Lands Act, Unfair Business Practices Act, and homeowner association liability.
Most recently, Mr. Wagner serves as Chairman of the planning commission for the City of Anderson, California.
